Abrasive Material Handling, Concrete Fittings, Sandblast Couplings, Transvac Fish Handling
Abrasive material hose applications can quickly wear out standard "insert" style metal fittings, so many couplings for this application are installed "externally", or in the case of concrete hose ends, they are specially heat treated for added resistance to abrasion. Due to the dangerous and critical nature of material handling hoses, users should confirm if the hose must be static conductive (for explosive products) and use safety restraints to reduce the effect of hose whip during a coupling failure. Material handling hoses typically wear and their walls becomes thinner, thereby preventing the ability to safely repairing such hoses due to compromised re-coupling integrity.
