These are specifically for use with rubber DOT approved air brake hose (equivalent to our NL4550/53 Series). Those making air brake hose, couplings, or assemblies must register a stamped logo with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106.
In recent years there has been an influx of counterfeit air brake fittings that are not DOT approved, even though some fittings may simply be stamped with "DOT" or, when questioned, some companies may submit counterfeit, self-made DOT documents. Required testing to the applicable specifications must be done on a regular basis and kept on file. We recommend anyone coupling DOT systems request genuine, verified DOT documents from the fitting manufacturer.
