Loctite 518 is designed to eliminate the need for a gasket on machined rigid iron, steel or aluminum flanges. It forms a flexible, solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay. It is typically used as a form-in-place gasket on easy disassembly rigid flanged connections, such as gearbox and engine casings. It has a temperature range of -55°C (-65°F) to +150°C (+300°F) and fills gaps to 0.05" when used with Loctite 7649 primer applied to both sides of the flange.
