The GFS series female spud is used only with the GJS/GJMS series of Viton seal ground joint couplings. The spud does not contain a polymer or copper seat so it will NOT seal with traditional groundjoint stems. Some users prefer this brand of ground joints as the unique Viton O-ring seal on the stem eliminates air or steam leaks when hand tightened. The O-ring passes 1,000 hour MIL-H-29210 steam test and is protected within a groove on the face of the machined stem.
