Hose Restraint Safety Sleeves fit over a hose assembly end by a few feet (like a sock) and have two thimble eyes to anchor the hose to the equipment and reduce the possibility of hose whip in the event of coupling failure; as well as they can help support the suspended weight of the line and take the strain off the end connection, however they are NOT designed for lifting or towing. They are used in heavy duty air, water, slurry, or some hydraulic applications (shackles and anchor points must be able to withstand the breaking strength of the restraint mesh). They are manufactured from two-ply galvanized strand making them durable and resistant to corrosion and weathering. For ease of installation they should be installed BEFORE actually inserting the hose coupling when making the hose.
