NL4905 is suitable for heater and coolant applications (see our NL4875 for stock on smaller sizes). It will remain flexible and ageless after prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, weather, or ozone - it will stay soft and pliable after years of use as compared to traditional rubber which will harden and crack. Silicone rubber is not for use with oil, however, it will stand up to engine oil "mist" found in normal operating conditions. It meets SAE 20R1 Class A (Custom Wall) requirements for performance as well as TMC RP303B Class I Grade 2. This hose is used in a wide range of industrial engine applications, such as trucks, construction equipment, buses, fire trucks, oil field equipment, garbage trucks, plows, generators, compressors, and agricultural equipment. When installing silicone hose, N62ET extended liner gear clamps will prevent the softcover from tearing during clamping/use. For larger sizes, use N68SL/ N75CT spring loaded T-bolt clamps to maintain holding power as the hose is subject to temperature fluctuations. Always check clamps at intervals and ensure proper clamp torque ratings are followed. This hose is also available with a wrapped green cover (NL4908), with a smooth, blue glossy cover (NL4906), or with a heavier 4-ply wall (NL4910). On special request, we can also supply with a higher temperature Aramid/Kevlar/Nomex reinforcement (NL4915) or also with a wire helix for applications where the hose must flex without kinking (NL4925). Customized silicone elbows and shapes are available on special request.

Construction: Tube: Smooth silicone rubber. Cover: Wrapped finish, blue silicone rubber. Reinforcement: Three plies of polyester fabric. Also available with high temp Aramid/Kevlar/Nomex plies or with a wire helix on special request (NL4925).

Typical Fittings: N62ET extended liner gear clamps and N68SL/N75CT spring loaded T-Bolt clamps. No barbed/sharp fittings that may cut the tube.

Temperature Range: -55°C (-67°F) to +176.6°C (350°F)

Detail Comments: In recent years there have been higher temperature applications which shorten the life of traditional silicone hoses with polyester reinforcement, for such applications we offer a higher temp hose (to +500°F) that has 4-5 plies of Aramid/Kevlar/Nomex reinforcement (NL4915).
