NL4030 DEF transfer is specifically designed to convey the high-purity, aqueous urea solution DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), it is similar to other UHMPWE transfer hoses (such as NL4015 & NL4020) but it is clearly marked with a "DEF" layline in order to prevent cross contamination. DEF is a liquid reducing agent that reacts with engine exhaust in the presence of a catalyst to convert smog-forming nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. It is a key component of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, which help diesel vehicles meet stringent engine emission regulations. NL4030 has a ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene tube & EPDM cover which allows it to be used in transfer applications of other chemicals, acids & solvents. It is advisable to test the tube material prior to field use and ensure all coupled lengths are fully certified. All chemical hoses should be drained and flushed after each use. Construction: Tube: Smooth, white Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). Cover: Slightly corrugated, blue wrapped EPDM with an whtie stripe. Reinforcement: Synthetic fabric with two wire helix.

Typical Fittings: SPECIAL NOTE: Using wrong fitting materials could damage exhaust or engine components, sensors, etc; DEF is NOT compatible with brass, aluminum, steel, zinc, or nickel; DEF typically requires stainless steel, PTFE, polyethylene, or polypropylene. Swage/crimp fittings, camlocks (confirm chemical compatibility), testing & certification (NOT internal expansion Scovills due to the inability of the tube to expand). Always confirm compatibility of coupling and gasket with material being conveyed.

Temperature Range: -30°C (-22°F) to +93.0°C (199°F)
