Flexible grade Nylon tubing provides better resistance to crushing, cracking, flexural fatigue, pressures, temperatures, UV, and abrasion over polyethylene tubing - as well as provides certain chemical resistance where polyethylene is not suitable. This tubing can be used for air, grease, fuel, oil, chemicals and instrumentation lines. Nylon 11 contains a natural plant ingredient that has become scarce in recent years and has been discontinued in favour of Nylon 12, which has very similar physical properties - and our stock is going through a rolling changeover. Many nylon compounds are hygroscopic, meaning they can absorb moisture; lower grade compounds exhibit absorption rates of up to 10%, however our Nylon 11/12 has a very low moisture absorption, such as 1.4% at 21°C (70F). It will not become brittle or swell because of water, but it should be noted that chlorine in water systems combined with elevated temperatures can produce an oxidizing environment that will shorten the life of nylon based materials. Our Nylon 11/12 is made from heat and light stabilized materials, and is more flexible than lower quality, economical Nylon 6 grade. For other colours of Nylon Tubing, refer to our NL560 Nylon Air Brake, however if that is not suitable we can supply other colours of the NL5350 version. We also offer an optional higher pressure nylon tubing (NL5360, shown below) and a "softer" version which is more pliable, however it has lower temperature and pressure ratings (NL5370).
