Loctite 5452 is the next generation of Loctite 545 (N160-xxx). It consists of a gel-like formula that offers even faster curing speed, reducing machinery down time and allowing for hydraulic lines to be used almost immediately in the field. Both sealants are designed for high pressure hydraulic or pneumatic applications (seals up to 10,000 psi on a 1/2" fitting). Most hydraulic fittings seal mechanically (metal face to face) or with an O-ring, but Loctite 545 & 5452 may act as an added sealant by filling in scratches and minor surface imperfections and prevent the fitting from loosening off from vibration. They contain no fillers or particles that could contaminate system fluids, foul valves, or clog filters. These sealants can also be used for standard air breathing lines (i.e. sandblast or welding areas) but is NOT recommended for oxygen enriched systems such as diver's air line. For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal) with a cleaning solvent and allow to dry. If a rapid cure time is required spray with Activator N7471 or T7649 (N180-XXX) and allow 1/2 hour to cure. Without a primer, allow 2 hours to cure properly.
