Machined Miniature Ball Valves - 333
These are compact, brass air/water valves suitable for up to approximately 250psi and 121°C (250°F) (depends on application and style).
Ball valves can be used for positive, quick, frequent 'on' and 'off' service or for throttling. The handle can be quickly opened or closed (90° turn) and allows for easy identification from a distance of valve position. Due to quick on and off, there is a risk of water hammer or shock if the valves are closed too quickly. When the flow is abruptly stopped, the energy in the medium hits the valve and reverberates through the line. This can damage the piping system. Whereas multi-turn valves (such as Gate or Globe Valves) close slowly, eliminating the water hammer.
'Full Port' ball valves permit full flow and are typically used on hard piping systems (they have similar internal dimensions to hard pipe). 'Standard Port' ball valves can be used with piping but are also suitable when used with hose as they do not restrict flow (they have the same internal dimensions of the corresponding hose size).
