PRO240/242 Molded Spherical units are our most popular and versatile expansion joints with an open, flowing arch that reduces turbulence and light sediment buildup. They are inherently stronger than our conventional PRO230/231 hand built spool arch type and are seen across a wide range of simple pumping applications in wastewater treatment, low pressure/light sludge, oil & gas mud systems, chiller & hot water, and simple pulp or processing facilities. This series is NOT for use in slurry or abrasive applications as they will wear out prematurely. Their floating flanges allow for easy, flexible alignment during installation. Single Sphere come in standard 6" & 8" lengths (other lengths available on request) and pipe sizes 1" through 30", whereas the Double Sphere come in standard 7", 9", and 13" lengths (depends on ID). They are available in various rubber compounds depending on the media, temperature, etc., however the most popular are EPDM tube and cover (suffix EE) and Neoprene tube and cover (suffix NN), but they are also available in Neoprene cover/Nitrile Tube (NP), Chlorobutyl (BB), food grade tubes, high temp EPDM (EE-9), CSM (HH).
